Isochoric heat capacity measurements of hfo refrigerants (R 1336mzz(E) and R 1336mzz(Z)) using twin-cell type adiabatic calorimeter.

Summary
The isochoric heat capacity (cv) of trans-1,1,1,4,4,4-hexafluoro-2-butane (R 1336mzz(E)) and cis- 1,1,1,4,4,4-hexafluoro-2-butane (R 1336mzz(Z)), which are HFO refrigerants expected as alternative refrigerants, was measured in each liquid phase. As a result, 318 points for R 1336mzz(E) and 248 points for R 1336mzz(Z) were respectively obtained in the temperature range of 267 K to 472 K at pressures up to 30 MPa. The expanded uncertainty (with a coverage factor k=2) of temperature measurements was 13 mK, and pressure measurements was 8 kPa. That of density was 0.16%. The relative uncertainty of cv was derived from 2.6% to 3.3% for R 1336mzz(E) and was from 2.5% to 3.0% for R 1336mzz(Z). The both sample purities were identified by gas chromatography, was 99.96% for R 1336mzz(E), and 99.93% for R 1336mzz(Z), respectively.
