WAVE EXPANSION OF AIR AND HELIUM AT LOW TEMPERATURES: INVESTIGATION.

Author(s) : ARKHAROV A. M.

Summary

THE EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATIONS ON THE PROCESS OF GAS EXPANSION IN THE CRYOGENIC GENERATOR WITH A RESONANCE TUBE HAVE SHOWN THAT: THE ENERGY OF ACOUSTIC WAVES WHICH SPREAD WITHIN THE EXPANSION CHAMBER AND THE ENERGY OF THE RESONANCE TUBE WALL VIBRATIONS REPRESENT, RESPECTIVELY, 5 AND 1% OF THE TOTAL ENERGY OF THE GAS, WHICH MAKES THEIR REMOVAL FROM THE SYSTEM IRRATIONAL ; THE AMPLITUDE OF PRESSURE FLUCTUATIONS, ON THE BASIC RESONANCE FREQUENCY AND IN THE CASE OF AIR, IS 8 + 10 DECIBELS HIGHER THAN THE AMPLITUDE OF THE OTHER HARMONICS AND DOES NOT DECREASE AT THE INLET OF THE CRYOGENIC GENERATOR WITH THE LOWERING OF T TEMPERATURE OF GAS ; THE MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE IN THE RESONANCE TUBE IS EQUAL, ACCORDING TO THE DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE, TO 2 + 3 T IN THE CASE OF AIR AND TO 3 + 5 T IN THE CASE OF HELIUM.
