What refrigerating equipment will be in use tomorrow?

Author(s) : GAC A.

Summary

In the introduction, the author notes a calculation method for optimizing insulation thickness. For the future, the questions are: which machines will be used, according to the decisions taken concerning halogenated refrigerants. The author emphasizes the technical and economic aspects of the recovery and recycling procedure for fluids. He then reviews possible solutions for replacing CFCs by other fluids, or by using new systems for refrigeration. For each of these systems, he attempts to indicate which areas are technically possible for future applications. New insulation materials will also be used.
