Summary

In Swiss mountains, the cultivation of some perennial Mediterranean species of aromatic and medicinal plants, such as medicinal sage, common thyme, medicinal lemon balm, oregano, rosemary and lemon verbena, is often restricted by the altitude. Studies on potential winter protective measures were undertaken. These protective measures (used alone or in combination) reduced the impact of frost.
