Summary
This special edition briefly describes an outline of the heat-pump market, several components used on electrically driven heat pumps such as fans, motors and valves, and non-electrically driven or non-reverse-cycle heat pumps. It also discusses recently emerging energy solutions such as the use of several types of renewable energy including solar energy, wind power and fuel cells. In addition, thermal energy storage systems which are used as a means of energy conservation and levelling off high peak demand for electric power which occurs during the daytime in summer is also presented.
