Summary

The R22-R142b mixture can be a flexible and economic way of totally or partially retrofitting R12 plants. The need to know the mixture behaviour in a recirculation plant led the authors to carry out tests and develop a measuring method. When validated with tests, the method can be used to calculate the machine operation under different load distribution or reintregration conditions, and to send liquid from the low-pressure receiver to the high-pressure vapour circuit. Reintegration can improve plant operation substantially.
