The cooling of servers which process most of the data published on our walls uses polar wind.
Facebook chose Luleå, a town based in Northern Sweden, to establish its European data center because it is cold out there.

This building with a surface area which equals 17 hockey ice rinks, packed with tens of thousands of servers, can do without any refrigeration unit. It is topped with a bank of fans which, once filtered and dampened, only convey the outdoor air into the building. The ambient temperature is maintained between 20 and 22°C.
