IIR document
A forced convection regenerative cycle using the carbon-ammonia pair.
Author(s) : CRITOPH R. E.
Summary
A novel cycle in which adsorbent heat transfer is enhanced by forced convection is described. The cycle is modelled for the carbon-ammonia pair, but could be used for any high pressure refrigerant. Mean heat output when used as a heat pump is of the order of kilowatt/kg of adsorbent. Heat pumping COPs of about 1.3 were predicted for the situation modelled, but 1.9 may be possible with optimized energy management within the system.
