Summary

The article describes, among other things, how the respective market shares (by volume) of meat-and pasta-based products and fish-based products changed from 1993 to 1994, in the categories of individual, family and 2- or 3-person sizes. Statistics are also given on how the penetration rate has changed by type of product and format. Today, a little more than half of all Frenchmen consume frozen prepared dishes. Moreover, occasional consumption has given way to more regular and daily consumption. The rate of penetration of family-sized prepared dishes has risen by 18%, the highest increase.
