A NEW FALLING BALL VISCOMETER FOR MEASUREMENT OF THE VISCOSITY OF REFRIGERANTS AND MIXTURES.

Author(s) : SICARS S., SNELSON W. K.

Summary

THE PRINCIPLE OF A FALLING BALL VISCOMETER MOST CLOSELY MEETS THE SET OF REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MEASUREMENT OF VISCOSITY. BASED ON THIS STUDY, A PRESSURE PROOF VISCOMETER WAS DESIGNED. DATA ACQUISITION AND CALCULATIONS ARE PERFORMED USING A COMPUTERIZED SYSTEM SUCH THAT SEMIAUTOMATIC MEASUREMENTS ARE POSSIBLE. TO ESTABLISH THE PRECISION OF THE VISCOMETER, THE VISCOSITY OF R22 WAS MEASURED AND COMPARED WITH THE RESULTS OF OTHER AUTHORS. NEW REFRIGERANTS AND SOME MIXTURES ARE MEASURED.
