Summary
This paper presents a simple and practical method for sizing capillary tubes. An analytical equation is developed and a closed form of capillary tube length as a function of the mass flow rate is obtained. The present model, tested for HCFC-22 and its alternatives R-134a, R-410A, R-404A, R-507A and R-407C, is found to agree reasonably well with experimental data in open literature.
