A THERMODYNAMIC APPROACH TO SOLUBILITY DATA OF SORPTION FLUID PAIRS.

Author(s) : STINISSEN W., BERGHMANS J.

Summary

DESCRIBES A METHOD FOR CALCULATING SOLUBILITY DATA (PRESSURE, TEMPERATURE, CONCENTRATION) FOR WORKING PAIRS IN SORPTION SYSTEMS. THE METHOD IS BASED ON THE REDLICH-KWONG-SOAVE EQUATION OF STATE AND IT IS DEVELOPED SO THAT LITTLE EXPERIMENTAL DATA IS REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE CALCULATIONS. ILLUSTRATES THE USEFULNESS OF THE METHOD BY SAMPLE CALCULATIONS FOR AMMONIA-WATER, METHYLAMINE-WATER AND TFE-QUINOLINE WORKING PAIRS. ILLUSTRATES THE VALUE OF THIS APPROACH WITH RESPECT TO THE FIRST STAGE SELECTION OF NEW WORKING PAIRS BASED ON THE COP.
