Summary
This brochure contains most available data on agricultural and food-industry production in France, at regional and national levels. Results achieved in 1996 are compared with those obtained during the four preceding years. These results are the fruit of analysis of production surveys (known as branch surveys) of firms and establishments; for the first time, these data include industrial production statistics (PRODCOM) required by European regulations. Following an overview of agricultural and food-industry production, results are provided on a per-sector basis: meat, fish, fruit and vegetables, fats, dairy products, cereals and starch products, animal feed, beverages, tobacco and other products (biscuits, condiments, chocolate products, etc.).
