Summary

AN AIR COOLING SYSTEM USING ACTIVE HUMIDIFICATION FOR LOW TEMPERATURE COLD ROOMS CONTAINING NON-PACKAGED MEAT WHICH WAS FROZEN IN THE INTERMEDIATE LEVELS OF MULTISTAGE COLD STORES IS DISCUSSED. THE CONSTRUCTION OF AN ADVANCED AIR HUMIDIFICATION SYSTEM IS DESCRIBED. THIS SYSTEM WAS TESTED, AND THE RESULTS HAVE SHOWN THAT IT MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO MAINTAIN, IN THE COLD ROOM, AN AIR RH OF 100% OR MORE WITH AN AIR TEMPERATURE RISE LESS THAN 0.5 K.
