Summary

The Japanese hygiene law revision is known to have tightened the restrictions on the use of additives and brought about improved hygiene standards to the manufacture of ready-to-eat foods and confectionery, as well as the introduction of HACCP. Air showers are devices to be installed at the entrance of food processing plants, so as to remove hair from the worker's head and shoulders, thus preventing it from being carried into the working space. The article describes the types, structural make-up and main features of experiments on the effectiveness of hair scattering by air jets.
