Summary
R12 AND R502 (AN AZEOTROPE OF R115 AND R22) HAVE BEEN THE REFRIGERANTS USED IN LOW AND MEDIUM (EVAPORATOR) TEMPERATURE APPLICATIONS. DUE TO THEIR ANTICIPATED PHASE OUT, COMPRESSOR MANUFACTURERS HAVE BEEN EVALUATING R134A, R125 AND BLENDS. THIS PAPER DESCRIBES THE PARAMETERS OF INTEREST FOR REFRIGERANTS AND LUBRICANTS AND PROVIDES RESULTS TO DATE.
