Ammonia and carbon dioxide as refrigerants in marine plants.
Author(s) : ROESVIK S., BERGGREN A., ROEREN J. E.
Summary
The paper gives a summary of work recently done on the use of natural refrigerants instead of CFCs and other artificial fluids in marine and land-based installations. The work concentrated on ammonia-brine and ammonia-CO2 plants for reefers, and on how the results from these and similar investigations for land-based plants can be adapted to fishing trawlers and the refrigeration and air-conditioning plants on passenger ships.
