Summary

Refrigerating equipment for a new plant for reconstituted slices of bacon is described. Plant surveillance is computer monitored and screens display information on temperature control, potential accidents and leaks. A roof gallery houses the piping for water glycol (working areas) and ammonia (rapid cooling units), and the cooler rooms are out of reach of the staff. Fabric air ducts are used and insulated panels are fixed and butt-jointed with polyester resin. A detailed plan of the refrigerating plant illustrates the text. J.L.
