An expression for the excess Gibbs function of the liquid R22/DTG mixture.
Author(s) : VISSERS F. P. L. M.
Summary
In the context of a research project on the combined heat- and mass transfer in falling liquid films, a test absorber working with R22 as refrigerant and DTG or dimethylether tetraethyleneglycol as absorbent, was built. In order to compare the results of numerical simulations with the outcome of the experiments, it was necessary to know the thermophysical data of the mixture. One of the most important properties is the heat of mixing. As direct measurements of the latter are rather scarce and not too reliable, an expression was set up for the excess Gibbs function from which the mixing enthalpy could be calculated. This procedure made it possible to incorporate measurements of the equilibrium pressure of the mixture, which are much more extensive and reliable, into the fitting procedure.
