Summary
AFTER RECALLING THE IMPORTANCE OF REFRIGERATION IN TROPICAL REGIONS, THE ARTICLE DISCUSSES THE INTEREST OF ABSORPTION SYSTEMS USING R21 AND R22 AS REFRIGERANTS. THE OPTIMAL CONDITIONSFOR FRUIT PRESERVATION AS WELL AS FOR CERTAIN VEGETABLES DEFINE THE LEVELS OF OPERATING TEMPERATURE. A THEORETICAL SIMULATION OF AN ABSORPTION MACHINE HAS PERMITTED THE CALCULATION OF THE ACHIEVABLE PERFORMANCE FOR 4 COMBINATIONS OF REFRIGERANT-ABSORBENT (DMF, DMETEG). THE PAIRS R21-DMF AND R21-DMETEG SEEM TO PROVIDE THE BEST PERFORMANCE FOR THE WHOLE TEMPERATURE RANGE EXISTING AT THE EVAPORATOR.
