Summary
A closed form solution is presented for straight fins with and without internal heat generation with periodic variation of base temperature. The heat transfer, temperature distribution, instantaneous and average efficiencies depend on the conventional fin parameter, frequency, amplitude, and internal heat generation. The results of calculations are presented in terms of the above mentioned parameters.
