Summary

By combining a mathematical model for a hermetic compressor verified by experiments with that for calculating the thermodynamic properties of refrigerants, the effects of the superheating degree of refrigerant on the performance of hermetic compressor, and the transient temperature variation of the compressor shell, the inside unit of crank-motor and refrigerant vapours were simulated and discussed. Some predicted results are helpful for improving the designing of compressors and how to meet the requirements of substitute for CFCs and HCFCs refrigerants.
