Summary
The paper describes the application of hydrocarbon refrigerants in a hermetic reciprocating compressor for refrigerator, showcase, dehumidifier, car air conditioner. The selected refrigerants are R12, R134a, R152a, R600 (isobutane) and SR-10 (ternary mixture of R600a/R152a/additives). Both theoretical and experimental cycle investigations based on the conditions of ASHRAE standard have been performed with the selected refrigerants. The test results of investigated refrigerants have been compared to the traditional refrigerants (R12, R134a). The results show that HC/HFC refrigerant mixture (SR-10) is an excellent alternative in the refrigerant field of R12, R134a.
