Analysis of high performance cycles for absorption heat pumps.

Author(s) : LAZZARIN R. M., GASPARELLA A., LONGO G. A., et al.

Summary

In the paper, several innovative absorption cycles are evaluated in a wide range of operative conditions to estimate their real performances by assuming suitable efficiency for each heat exchange. The innovative cycles based on water-lithium bromide solution give the best performance (COP around 3 using a triple-effect heat pump), but they involve high temperature at the generator (up to 210 °C) with great corrosion or crystallisation problems. Innovative cycles based on ammonia-water solution give lower performances.
