APPLICATION AND EXPERIENCE WITH CRYOGENICS IN DEEP-FREEZING.

Summary

CONTRARY TO THE CONVENTIONAL FREEZING PROCESS USING LIQUEFIED GAS, REFRIGERATION IS MAINTAINED IN THE TRANSPORT LIQUID BY A CHANGE OF STATE OF THE MATERIAL WHICH CAN BE FREED IN A VARYING WAY. IT IS OBTAINED BY DIRECT HEAT TRANSFER. FOR NUMEROUS VALUABLE FOODS AND BIOLOGICAL MATERIALS AND PHARMACEUTICS, THIS METHOD IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY IN ORDER TO PREVENT THE DISTORTIONS DUE TO THE DESTRUCTION OF CELLS AND THE GROWTH OF MICROORGANISMS. THE WATER PERCENTAGE CAN THUS BE LOWERED BY 5% COMPARED TO CONVENTIONAL METHODS. THE POSSIBLE USE OF N2 AND CO2 ARE STUDIED THERMODYNAMICALLY, TECHNICALLY AND ECONOMICALLY.
