Summary

The paper deals with old less known applications such as contemporary applications of ice and ice composites as structural material in shipbuilding engineering, mechanical engineering and other fields of technical activity. One of the most important advantages of this approach is the environment friendly technology. One of the examples of this approach is the design and building of the artificial floating isles of various dimensions and dedicated equipment. According to the authors of the paper, the basic material for hull for this kind of isles may be frozen mixture of ice and appropriate filling material.
