Applying the transcritical CO2 process to a drying heat pump.
Author(s) : SCHMIDT E. L., KLOECKER K., FLACKE N., STEIMLE F.
Type of article: Article, IJR article
Summary
The transcritical CO2 process fits well to the air dehumidification process observed in a heat pump dryer. Gains (respectively avoided losses) in connection with heat transfer during the air heating phase and superior compressor performance make up for the higher throttling losses of the process, resulting in an equivalent or even better COP than the comparative R134a process.
