Summary

As for peach, quality is questioned, but ripeness is an even more important issue. Apricots are not firm fruit and their flavour and aroma are not comparable with those of firm fruit. Apricots are undoubtedly practical: they are an excellent snack. However, they are fragile and this aspect, as well as consumers' needs in terms of ripeness and quality benchmarks and guarantees have to be taken into account. Thus, a gap between expectations and characteristics of the fruit supplied becomes apparent. Priority should be given to finding solutions to improve this situation.
