Summary
The paper presents the main improvements made to a refrigeration and air conditioning facility in order to increase the efficiency and also to increase the indoor air quality. Most of the refrigeration power is achieved through two direct gas fired absorption chillers. Changes have also been made in chilled water distribution, hot water production, and in the use of fan-powered VAV boxes for parameter zones as well as cooling-only VAV boxes for interior zones.
