SUMMARY OF A STUDY BY SPIESS, GRUNEWALD AND HEFFT (ZFL, 8/85, P. 558-562) ABOUT THE TIME SPENT IN THE VARIOUS STAGES IN THE FREEZING CHAIN AND UP TO THE FINAL CONSUMER. THE STORAGE LIFE OF VARIOUS PRODUCTS IS DESCRIBED BY A MATHEMATICAL MODE THE CALCULATED AND EFFECTIVE TIMES WERE COMPARED AND THEY ARE IN FAIRLY GOOD AGREEMENT. IN THIS WAY, A CALCULATION SYSTEM USABLE FOR REPRESENTING CHANGES IN THE QUALITY OF FROZEN FOODS IS OBTAINED. R.R.
