Author(s) : HUNT J. H.

DURING ITS PROCESSING, MEAT PASSES THROUGH SEVERAL STAGES, FROM FRESH TO CHILLED AND FROZEN STATES. THE FIRE HAZARDS BROUGHT BY FROZEN MEAT PROPER AND ITS PACKAGING WERE EVALUATED. FROZEN MEAT DOES NOT FAVOUR THE HORIZONTAL PROPAGATION OF FIRE AND IT CONSTITUTES A LOW FIRE RISK STORAGE MATERIAL. PACKAGING MATERIALS PERMIT FIRE SPREAD TO A LIMITED DEGREE.
