Summary

This study was designed to determine the changes in the contents of starch, glucose, fructose and the sum of soluble sugars in ovaries, in comparison with corollas, from cut "Sonia" roses stored at 2 deg C and kept at/or transferred to 20 deg C. Soluble sugars, extracted from freeze-dried material, were analysed by high-performance liquid chromatography and starch was determined enzymically. Results are given and discussed.
