Changes of electrical conductivity in modified-atmosphere-held "Hass" variety avocados using ethylene absorbing filters.

[In Spanish. / En espagnol.]

Summary

Respiratory activity during the 4 to 6 deg C storage was controlled, and modified-atmosphere storage effectiveness is examined using cylindric filters containing an ethylene-absorbent. Results show that electrical conductivity is a physical sign as significant as firmness for fruit development during storage, and modified-atmosphere delays ripening of fruits held at 6 deg C for about one week.
