Comparing gas-engine cooling systems: R134a vs. R22.
Author(s) : PATEL J., HENDERSON H. I. Jr, COLLINS M.
Type of article: Article
Summary
According to the authors, the field demonstration confirmed that refrigerant R134a could be practically used in a field-erected gas-engine cooling system. The use of R134a resulted in a similar system efficiency and the increased compressor requirements were in line with expectations. The R134a system also operated as reliably as the comparably configured R22 system.
