Type of article: Article
Summary
No one HFC mixture proposed by chemists is a single alternative to HCFC-22 phase out. In order to replace the latter in the medium term, R404A and R407C are of interest from a thermodynamic point of view and the profession has reached a certain degree of consensus concerning these refrigerants. This article discusses the main conclusions drawn by EDF following experimental studies on R404A and R407C. These conclusions concern the performances of R404A and R407C compared with that of HCFC-22 and take into account potential application fields.
