THREE IDENTICAL ROOMS WERE EQUIPPED WITH DIFFERENT COOLING AND HUMIDIFYING SYSTEMS: ROOM A COOLED AND HUMIDIFIED BY AIR CIRCULATING THROUGH A COLD WATER SPRAY ; ROOM B, JACKETED ; ROOM C COOLED BY A CONVENTIONAL SYSTEM WITH HUMIDIFIER. AFTER 5 MONTHS, THE GREATEST LOSS OCCURRED IN ROOM A. IN ROOM C THERE WAS AN INCREASE IN THE WEIGHT OF VEGETABLES AND ALSO MORE LOSS DUE TO ROT.
