Summary

RECENTLY, MUCH ATTENTION HAS BEEN PAID TO USING NONAZEOTROPIC BINARY MIXTURES AS WORKING FLUIDS FOR RANKINE OR REFRIGERATION CYCLES. BUT LITTLE EXPERIMENTAL WORK HAS BEEN MADE. THE MAIN PURPOSE OF THIS STUDY IS TO OBTAIN THE GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE FILM CONDENSATION OF NONAZEOTROPIC BINARY VAPOUR MIXTURES (R 11 AND R114) IN A VERTICAL TUBE. THE CONTINUOUS CHANGES OF MIXTURE RATIOS OF VAPOURS IN THE AXIAL DIRECTION WERE CLEARLY OBSERVED BY GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY. THE CHARACTERISTICS OF TEMPERATURE AND MIXTURE RATIO CHANGE WERE IN GOOD AGREEMENT WITH THE RESULTS PREDICTED BY THE TEMPERATURE VS COMPOSITION DIAGRAM ACCORDING TO RAOULT'S LAW.
