Summary

THE MIXTURES INCLUDED THE R12-R22, R22-R114 AND R13B1-R114 SYSTEM. THE FOLLOWING PREDICTIVE METHODS FOR CRITICAL PARAMETERS OF A MIXTURE WERE ASSESSED: THAT BY LI FOR CRITICAL TEMPERATURE, THAT BY CHUEH-PRAUSNITZ FOR CRITICAL TEMPERATURE AND CRITICAL MOLAR VOLUME, THAT BY KREGLEWS-KI-KAY FOR CRITICAL PRESSURE. THE SOAVE-REDLICH-KWONG EQUATION AND THE PENG-ROBINSON EQUATION WERE ALSO EVALUATED. FROM THESE COMPARISONS, IT BECOMES CLEAR THAT IT IS DIFFICULT TO CONSISTENTLY PREDICT THE CRITICAL CURVE FOR BINARY REFRIGERANT MIXTURES. THE AUTHORS THEREFORE PROPOSE A NEW CORRELATION.
