Summary

A SUIT FILED BY THE NATURAL RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL (USA) AGAINST THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY TO FORCE THE ISSUE OF REGULATIONS ON THE USE OF CHLOROFLUOROCARBONS HAS BEEN DISMISSED BY A COURT JUDGE WITH THE INSTRUCTION THAT THE PARTIES SHOULD ATTEMPT TO REACH AGREEMENT. THE ISSUE IS STILL NOT CLEAR. RECENT STUDIES INDICATE NO REDUCTION IN TOTAL OZONE WILL OCCUR FOR SEVERAL DECADES, BUT MORE RESEARCH IS NEEDED. D.W.H.
