Summary

The Dutch directive CPR 13, issued in 1988, giving safety guidelines for the applications of ammonia in refrigerating systems, has been for some time in need of revision. This was initiated and organised by the Dutch association for refrigeration (NVVK), and the revised version is almost ready. The outlines of the revised directive presented in the article show that many elements of the European Draft Standard prEN 378 (Environmental and safety requirements for refrigerating systems and heat pumps) have been included.
