Summary

After exposing the cryogenie prilling technology, this article presents the theoretical bases for the droplets formation and their solidification by cooling. An experimental study then provides a validation of the theoretical bases presented before and shows that this technology makes it possible to produce balls of uniform size. Finally, the tests show that an only 1.5 m height cooling tower can produce wax balls with a diameter up to 1 mm. This is possible thanks to the liquid nitrogen which allows us to reach very low temperatures in the cooling tower. Since the formulation of food and pharmaceutical products is now more and more technical, cryogenie prilling technology with the advantages that it brings can certainly find many applications in these fields.
