PROCESS USED BY THE AUTHORS FOR FREEZING PLATELETS, USING DMSO, AFTER REMOVAL OF RED BLOOD CELLS AND LEUCOCYTES BY BLOOD CENTRIFUGATION ; THE COOLING RATE OF 1 K/MIN IS PROGRAMMED TO 223 K (-50 DEG C), IN LIQUID NITROGEN, ALLOWING THEIR SUBSEQUENT PRESERVATION AT 77 K (-196 DEG C). DESCRIPTION OF THE DIFFERENT CONTROLS OF THE FUNCTIONAL ACTIVITY AND THE SURVIVAL OF FROZEN-THAWED PLATELET CONCENTRATES. THEIR USE IS QUITE JUSTIFIED IN THE TREATMENT OF HAEMORRHAGIC SYNDROMES DUE TO THROMBOPENIA.G.G.
