CRYOPRESERVATION OF SKIN BY VITRIFICATION.
Author(s) : ZHU Z.
Summary
THE VIABILITY OF STORED SKIN IN LIQUID NITROGEN WAS ONLY 50-60% IN COMPARISON WITH PRESTORED FRESH SKIN ; SOMETIMES THERE WAS BLISTER FORMATION ON THE SURFACE OF STORED SKIN AFTER TRANSPLANTATION AND STORED SKIN CANNOT BE PUT ONTO AN INFECTED GRANULATION WOUND. INTHE PAPER, THE METHOD OF STORED SKIN BY VITRIFICATION IS STUDIED IN ORDER TO IMPROVE ITS VIABILITY. IN THE VITRIFICATION PROCESS, A HIGH CONCENTRATION OF CRYOPROTECTIVE AGENTS IS NEEDED AND THE AUTHORS HAD TO CHOOSE A SUITABLE CRYOPROTECTIVE SOLUTION, IN ORDER TO STORE LARGE PIECES OF HOMOGRAFTS BY VITRIFICATION, AND TO EVALUATE THE CLINICAL RESULTS OF VITRIFIED AUTOGRAFTS AND HOMOGRAFTS.
