Summary

The simplified biological test detects tetracylines but does not permit the differentiation of tetracycline and oxytetracycline (OTC). The OTC may be identified by HPLC with UV detectors, fluorescence or photodiode connector. The OTC content is 1.90 ppm in frozen shrimps. The detection limit is 0.01 ppm by HPLC with UV detector and 0.2 ppm by the biological test.
