Summary
After reviewing in detail the history and nature of directives of the European Community concerning quick-frozen food, the author mentions that the 89/108 directive includes dispensatory clauses for the supply sector called "local". He then analyzes in detail the definition and features of this activity, its specific economic functions, customers, its organization and methods. Due to the dispensatory nature of regulations, it seems necessary to define "local" supply at a European level, which is missing from the current directives. J.R.
