Summary
A distributed model is developed to simulate the steady and transient performance of a dry-expansion evaporator. The model is capable of describing air temperature distribution inside the evaporator. From the results presented, it may be concluded that by controlling the liquid dry-out point to the two ends of the coil or by decreasing the degree of superheat, a more uniform air temperature distribution off the evaporator can be obtained.
