Eco-friendly refrigerant for mitigating ozone depletion and global warming: case study of a milk chiller.

Author(s) : AGRAWAL A., DAVE R. K.

Summary

Hundreds of small milk producers bring their milk to collector centres where it is quickly cooled with R12 coolers. The paper aims at exploring the various options available in selecting an eco-friendly alternative to replace R12 which will help in mitigating ozone depletion and global warming. The performance of a milk chilling unit has been predicted by using a vapour compression cycle design programme developed by NIST.
