Summary

Mature Baladi orange fruits were individually wrapped or placed 5 fruits to a plastic bag or left unwrapped and stored at room temperature or at 5 or 10 °C. Weight loss, desiccation and decay were measured during storage for 56 days. Chemical and physical attributes were analysed for two seasons. Bagging gave the lowest weight loss but the highest decay rate. Wrapping reduced decay rates compared with control fruits. It is recommended that fruits should be wrapped and stored at 5 °C.
