Summary

THE EFFECT OF VARIOUS TEMPERATURES, COMPOSITIONS OF THE CONTROLLED GAS ENVIRONMENT AND THEIR COMBINATION ON THE STORAGE LIFE OF FRESH PLUMS WAS STUDIED. THE AUTHOR SHOWS THAT A DECREASE IN TEMPERATURE TO ABOUT 271 K (-2 DEG C) PROVIDES GOOD PRESERVATION OF THE ORGANOLEPTIC AND COMMERCIAL PROPERTIES OF FRUIT FOR1-1 1/2 MONTHS. THE USE OF CONTROLLED ATMOSPHERE COMBINED WITH THIS TEMPERATURE NOTICEABLY EXTENDS THE STORAGE LIFE OF FRESH PLUMS.
