Type of article: Article
Summary
Hami melon cv. New Century fruits were harvested at horticultural maturity and evaluated for quality traits during storage at different temperatures. The main parameters studied were chilling injury symptoms. No chilling injury symptoms were found if fruits were preconditioned at 10 °C for 6 days before storage for 14 days at 1 °C followed by 3 days at room temperature. Colour and texture characteristics of such fruits were similar to those of freshly harvested fruits.
